What is Stratus Video?

Stratus Video is a software based video network that can connect anyone with an account to a live, video interpreter in a variety of languages in 30 seconds or less, on-demand. Stratus can be loaded onto any desktop, tablet or smartphone device and is connected over WiFi or 4G.

Minimum requirements for Desktop Client

  • Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard or higher
  • Windows XP/2003/Vista/7 (including 64 bit versions)
  • DirectX 9.0c or higher

Windows Hardware requirements

  • P4@2.0Ghz (audio/high-res video calls)
  • Core 2 Duo class, 2.33 GHz (H.264, 720p videocalls)
  • Core 2 Quad class, 2.66 GHz (H.264, 1080p videocalls)
  • 1GB RAM and 30MB hard-disk space.

Note: iPad™ has no video camera so only remote party video is shown if available. iPhone 3GS® uses the only available back camera.

How do I sign up?

If you’d like a Stratus Video account, click Contact Us and let us know! We’ll get you set up with a secure connection, the appropriate hardware and as many unique logins as you would like. 

In Call

How do I place a call?

To connect with an interpreter, simply login and touch the language button you need an interpreter for. In under 30 seconds, you will be connected. (e.g.: username@host)

I’m getting a lot of echo – what can I do?

In your desktop client, go to Settings>Audio and tick the Echo canceler option.

How do I switch camera on my mobile?

[DDET Click to Readmore]If your smartphone or tablet includes a back and a front facing camera, you can easily switch from one to the other by simply performing 3 quick taps on the screen.
